The south Seven Mile Beach area is generally more reasonably priced than the prime central area. The only luxury condos in this area are the brand new South Bay Beach Club condos, located adjacent to the Marriott Beach Resort.

There is a good selection of restaurants, shopping and activities in this area, yet the resorts are still fairly quiet, as they are set a ways back from the main road. The beach is busiest near the Marriott Beach Resort. From Tamarind Bay and south though, it is pretty quiet and there isn't a lot of walk-by traffic on the beach.

The beach is nothing but fine white sand in the northernmost section of this area. Once you get further south of Tamarind Bay the beach becomes mixed sections of sand and iron shore. Iron shore is solid rock (often jagged) that you need shoes to walk on without it being uncomfortable. The iron shore protects the beaches from erosion, and provides tidal pools for exploring. For beach purists, the beaches up around South Bay Beach Club or Regal Beach Club are the best in this area, and equal those further north on Seven Mile Beach..

The snorkeling is excellent in this area. There is a nice artificial reef right off the beach at the Marriott, which provides easy access to snorkeling. Further south, there is iron shore as well as numerous coral heads out in the water that all provide excellent shelter for sea life. There is even a wreck off the beach near Cocoplum condos that you can easily snorkel out to. You can expect to see a myriad of fish life and possibly even sea turtles, octopus, stingrays and squid as you snorkel along the shore in this area.
