Peaceful location with a primarily perfect beach - though with a few small (easily avoided) rocky sections in specific locations. A car rental is recommended, as there isn't a lot within walking distance. There is a supermarket and a couple of restaurants in West Bay, at the very north end of this area. Excellent snorkeling including Cemetery Reef. Condos here are generally less expensive than comparable resorts in the prime central area.
Prime central location with an absolutely perfect white sand beach. The sea bottom is nice and sandy in this area - great for wading and playing in the spectacular Caribbean Sea. There are a variety of restaurants, as well as shops, bars, watersports and more - all within easy walking distance. This is the most sought after location on Seven Mile Beach, so demand is very high and the more popular condo resorts can fill up quickly. Book early - especially during the busy winter season!
Convenient location, with a number of shops, restaurants, a supermarket and other activities within easy walking distance. Mixed coastline with some smaller sections of white sand beach at specific resorts, and some areas with ironshore (rock) along the shoreline, but with sandy beaches in behind the ironshore. The sandy beach areas in this area can experience beach erosion - usually during the fall hurricane season, and often re-gain their sand during winter storms. Great snorkeling right off the shore in this area.
Rum Point and Cayman Kai are quiet residential areas of private villas and a few condos, including the new Rum Point Club. Rum Point is home to the Rum Point Beach Bar - which is very popular with residents, families and visitors alike. There is a ferry service from Rum Point to/from Caymana Bay on the Seven Mile Beach side of North Sound. Many Stingray City and other tours depart from here. Crystal Caves, bio-luminescent bay and other island attractions are in this area.
